Who we are

Gray & Sons Contracting is a family-owned, multi-service home improvement company serving homeowners across Southern Maryland. The Gray family is known around here, and we run the business the way you'd want a neighbor to. Do good work, charge a fair price, and stand behind every job. When you call, you're talking to the family doing the work, not a call center.

Fifty years of experience behind every job

At the heart of the company is Noel Gray, who has worked as a home improvement contractor for 50 years, since 1976, and is known across Southern Maryland for his custom carpentry. Five decades on the job have taught Noel how to do the work right the first time, and today he mentors the next generation of the family, passing that experience down on every project we take on. When our crew shows up at your home, the work is guided by half a century of hands-on know-how, not a guess.

Why family-owned matters

A lot of home improvement work today gets handed off to rotating subcontractors and out-of-town crews. Our model is the opposite. We do the work ourselves, we do it right the first time, and we earn the next job by the quality of the last one. Most of our work comes from repeat customers and the neighbors they send our way.

If you've ever felt rushed, upsold, or talked down to by a contractor, you'll understand why this matters. We give written estimates before any work begins, we don't pressure-close on the first visit, and when we say we'll be there, we're there. We're also fully licensed, bonded, and insured, so you're protected before we ever pick up a tool.

• Custom carpentry, what we've been known for since 1976. Built-ins, custom trim, desks, cabinetry, remodels, and additions.
• Home remodeling, kitchens, baths, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations, with the electrical done in-house and permits pulled by the family.
• Handyman work, no job too small. TVs, Christmas lights, desk builds, demo, outlets, ceiling fans, light fixtures, painting, and repairs.
